Time Out for Women

Yeah I'm only eleven, but I went to this conference with my mom called Time out for Women! There were a lot of speakers and musical performances that I liked. I thought I would be pretty bored but I had a lot of fun, so now I'll show you what we did!

Now, can't we just get to the best part! I'll tell you. If you somehow didn't know that I wanted to be a news anchor when I grow up, now you do. I also like Jane Clayson Johnson who was a news anchor, but then left her job to be with her family and kids. I admire her and while I was there I got to meet her! We told her how I had to write about a career role mode and that I wrote about her and that I tried out to be in the morning news program at my school and that I am a main anchor. She wanted to know how it would go in seventh grade so she gave me her e-mail. I wasn't expecting that, but I was really glad that I got it! So, now here are some pictures of this great time!

A couple days ago I went to a meeting for my school's morning announcements (Wake up! With MSTV). I signed up to try out for main anchor or speciality. Which could be weather man, sports reporter, fun joke Friday, or birthday beat. On the day of the audition I realized that I had to try out for weather which I did not want to do. So, to try out for specialty I had to wright a weather report even though I wanted to be the sports caster! So, I finally said I only wanted to try out for the main news anchor. When, I got into the room for the tryouts, I was going to say that I would sound a little different because I had a stuffy nose and a cough. But, I was overwhelmed by the number of judges (over 10)! So, I went on with my audition. I did all the talking on the sheet... and then, they had two names on the T. V. screen that they got out of the phone book that were slightly hard to pronounce!

On Monday, I went to see the results at the MSTV room and I made it as the main news anchor! Yayyyyyyyyyy! Then, when Grandma picked me up for school we went to get pizza or ice cream to celebrate. I got pizza. I should have gotten the ice cream, because while biting on a pepperoni I lost half of my tooth! I still have the other half hanging in my mouth! Later, during lunch one of the judges of MSTV came to me during lunch and he told me that I did really good with my audition and I was one of the best! well, if your ever in my town stop by me on my journey to be a real news anchor! Just like Jane Clayson. I am Jillie Jane!

Silver the Silent Moon!

Silver the Silent Moon was a hit! A lot of people out there probably don't know what I'm talking about. Well, you will find out right about now. I was supposed to write a myth for Reading in school. Then, I would have to perform it with eye contact, gestures, costume, and props. That sounds like a lot of work for me. But, there is one more thing you need to know. I had to memorize it! And I wrote three pages! Uh-oh how was I supposed to memorize and perform that! Anyways, we could have one small index card and write a few facts on it just in case I forgot some thing. But, only one side. The night before my performance I practiced in front of my parents and there is a link to you tube at the end of this article that shows my myth at home. (The final product!) I used this card that plays this tower of terror music at my performance and during the introduction when I closed the card everyone started clapping and it was just the beginning! Then finally, when I finished my performance and shut the card for the last time, I got a standing ovation and loud cheering and clapping! I felt soooo good! I had tons of questions after it about my costume (shirt) and the card. My teacher Mr. Goggins was explaining to the class that you should make eye contact and voice projection and all this good stuff like Jillie! The next days I did'nt have to take the spelling tests. I got to read them since I was such a great story teller I guess! It was really fun to preform and I felt soooooooooooo good to preform! Now, here's a link to my Myth Silver the Silent Moon!

Dress-up Day!

On Saturday, Me, Reagan, Kobe, Jackson, and our friend Sydney from Amherst had a play date! We dressed up and had sooo much fun! Here are some pictures of the final outcome.
